VAD8041/01 DVD ROM Drive

The VAD8041/01 is a Philips DVD ROM Drive, which they use in their HDRW720/05 DVD Recorder. The CD ROM drive appears to have standard PC connections such as a parallel ATA connection, and a Molex power connector. I was lucky to get one of these faulty units where the problem was traced to the internal DVD ROM Drive, and in particular, the SA56202 IC within the drive electronics that had burnt up and required replacing.
