Marantz CD6000 OSE Computer Board


The main computer is on a separate board, which plugs into the main audio board. Keeping the digital circuitry separate like this is a very good idea as it prevents crosstalk from the computer oscillator circuitry entering the audio circuits.

Here is a plan view of the computer board. As you can see, there are three sockets for header pins, which plugs onto the main audio board. The great thing is that these boards can be easily replaced thereby upgrading the CD player.

The ribbon cable from the front display PCB connects to the main computer PCB. The display driver uPD780204 connects to the main computer through a dedicated bus.
