VAM1202 Removing Spindle Motor

Replacing the spindle motor was much easier than I thought, because the CD holder easily pulls off. There is a small square cut out between the holder and the motor for inserting a screwdriver, and pushing the holder off.
Usually the holder is very difficult to remove especially when attached to brushless motors. However, this is just a cheap dc motor on a plastic frame.

Here is the CD holder part. I was careful to make sure it did not bend or warp, otherwise it will not rotate freely as the tolerances are very precise.

From the underside, the motor is inside a recess, and simply pulls out, providing the torx screws at the top are undone. Obviously one has to desolder the wires as well. The green wire connects to the terminal marked by a red spot. This must be positive.

The original motor is the RF-300CH. This is a very commonly used motor found in many places.
