VAM1202 Removing Traverse Unit

The traverse unit is the inside platform of the mechanism. This platform rises up to engage the spindle motor with the CD in the tray. The platform suspends on rubber pillars situated at all the corners to provide shock absorption.

The platform consists of the sled, which carries the laser and focusing mechanism.

There is also the spindle motor.

This is the sled motor, which moves the sled to the desired track number.
