GPIO Cable Raspberry Pi

This General-Purpose I/O (GPIO) cable is a male to female ribbon cable, which makes an electrical connection between the P1 socket of the Raspberry Pi and a breadboard. This is one of the most useful cables because you can tear it and use individual wires to connect to almost any header pin on the Raspberry Pi board. Therefore, this cable will work for almost any version of the Raspberry Pi as long as it has header pins.

The cable length is usually 20 cm, and the pin pitch is 2.54 mm (0.1-inch). In this example, I am using a 40-way Rainbow / DuPont ribbon cable to show how a connection between the P1 socket and a breadboard could be established. This is a very simple visual article so that you can see the connectors that are involved.

Breadboard Connection

The other end of the cable fits nicely to the breadboard.
