Disconnecting the HP PSC Printer

If you are planning to clean the scanner glass to solve the clicking noise problem, then the first thing to do is to disconnect the printer from the wires connecting to it.
Disconnect the Power

The printer receives 16 V, and 32 V from the external "brick" adapter. Therefore, it is better to unplug the adapter from the mains and disconnect the cable from the back of the printer. Carefully store the adapter and their wires away somewhere safe.
Phone Cables

If you have phone cables for a fax line, then you will need to remove them from here.
USB Wire

Remove the USB wire from here.
Wireless Antenna

Remove the Bluetooth wireless antenna from here, and remove it from the loop holder. The antenna incorporates into the scanner lid; hence, this wire requires disconnection.
Removing the Scanner Lid

Press on the area shown in the photograph. There is a plastic tab, which disengages the scanner lid hinges.
