Removing the HP PSC 2510 Keyboard Cover

In order to clean the scanner glass, the first step is to remove the HP PSC 2510 keyboard cover. This will provide access to the hidden screws that are under the keyboard assembly.

I used a plastic credit card to wedge open the gap wide enough to insert a screwdriver. I carefully lifted the cover from around the edges, as the plastic tabs are on all sides of the cover panel.

This is how it appears with the cover panel removed. As you can see, there are plastic tabs everywhere along the edges.

This shows one of the locking tabs. Over the years, the plastic becomes brittle and these tabs can break easily if not carefully removed.
