Electronic Project Lab - Clementoni

This Electronic Project Lab is a 50 in 1 science kit manufactured in China by the Italy based Clementoni Organisation. It is for children aged 9 and older for teaching the basics of electronics. Manufactured under license by Clementoni, the royalties from the sale funds and supports the science museum. The lab consists of a pre-assembled electronics console supplied with coloured wires for making the electrical connections to spring terminals. It comes with a comprehensive 64-page guide showing how to build up to 50 different circuits. This lab uses three transistors, and spring terminals 39, 40, and 41 have the 2SC8050 NPN silicon transistor connected to them, which is the same as the CD8050 manufactured by CDIL. It has a collector current rating of 0.5 A, and hFE rating of 300. The other two transistors are STC945, which is an NPN silicon transistor for small-signal amplifier applications. It has a maximum dc current gain (hFE) of 700, and typical current rating (Ic) of 150 mA.

Clementoni make some wonderful educational toys, and this one has some educational value that may continue through school as well. Many people hold on to a couple of these lab kits, as they can be very useful. I bought this one second-hand and the LEDs were burnt, however it was very easy to replace them. Majority of the components are readily available for replacement and therefore a used kit can be of value as well. You could expect to pay around ten pounds for a used one in an average condition.
