Feet Firmly Grounded

Having my feet firmly grounded is very important to me, and I have managed to remain grounded by maintaining a good measure of self-discipline. I had a very strict upbringing and I am often hard on myself. The fact is that life is not all party. It is gritty, it is tough, and there are hard and difficult choices to be made. There is pain and suffering to endure, and there are no quick answers or magic solutions. When I was a young whippersnapper, I remember applying for various jobs and being turned down. Sometimes, not getting what you want can be a great stroke of luck!

I did not get the big breaks! Thanks!

Whilst other children who were the right colour with connected parents had the big breaks, I had to work my way up. That was actually a good thing, because today I can say that I learned a lot more making my own way! Today, all of those kids that I knew that had it easy are dead, due to alcohol and drug abuse. I suppose they had one party too many!

That was a great stroke of luck. Many of those people in the media actually turned out to be not very nice people. Many of them were addicted to drugs. I do not think I would have liked it working there!
