Fake USB Memory Repair Tools

If you have bought a fake USB memory stick on eBay, and are looking to see if there are any repair tools, then the first thing I would recommend is not to waste your time looking for such tools. Written and altered by unknown sources in the East, many of these tools could actually infect your PC with a virus!

I found just a few repair tools that appeared sensible and seemed to work. They are shown in the menu option to the left of this page; however, looking around on Chinese sites is always a huge risk not worth taking.

Instead of trying to repair a fake low quality memory stick, I would recommend that interests would be better served if you contact eBay for a refund. A PayPal claim has to lodge within 45 days starting from the date you made the payment. On average, a product takes 3 weeks to arrive from China, and if you are one of the lucky ones who detected the fake straight away then you have a good chance of getting a refund.

Auction sites such as eBay are very fair and sympathetic organisations and very much interested in hearing your story. In almost all cases you can get your money back without any problems.

Fake memory sticks are poor quality and un-reliable. Assembled incorrectly and poorly, they typically fail over a short period. The soldered USB socket is where they normally fail, but often, the microcontroller or memory chip can fail as well. Made from substandard and reject components that factories normally throw away, these memory sticks are nothing but trouble.

Generally, the best thing to do is to backup your data and transfer it to the next generation of advanced USB sticks that you can easily buy from reputable online firms.

Buy Genuine

There are many reputable online shops and eBay sellers offering high quality genuine USB memory stick products, and it is often a better choice buying from there than getting a cheap one that comes all the way from China...

If you value your data, and peace of mind then it is better to look into some of the next generation of modern USB memory sticks that provide advanced data security features.
