GV-N84S-512I

The GV-N84S-512I Rev 3.0 is a NVIDIA® GeForce 8400 GS Graphics Accelerator Card manufactured in approximately 2010 by the GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Corporation. There are three versions of the card, GV-N84STC-1GI, GV-N84S-512I Rev3.0, and GV-N84STC-512I Rev2.0. The 512i versions have 512 MB of onboard memory, whereas the 1Gi version has 1 GB.

It has a small cooling fan, which was very quiet.

Review

I bought this graphics card second-hand on eBay for a few bucks and thought it offered useful functionality and stability.

There are drivers for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 Operating Systems, and I had no problems with it in Windows 7. It has three connectors for output, HDMI, Dual-Link DVI-I, and D-sub, so you can switch the video signal to multiple monitors in the room like they way they do in that TV show NCIS. Probie not included of course.

These cards offer resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600, and refresh rates of up to 240 Hz for many of the high screen resolutions. You can also have true mode colour depth (16.7-million colours) for many of the high-resolution settings.
