CMOS Battery

The Gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard uses a CR2032 battery for maintaining the CMOS data. In this motherboard it is very close to the PCIE ×16 socket, which posed an engineering challenge for me as I was planning to use a video card with passive cooling. These types of video cards usually have a large heatsink that radiate heat, and my concern was that it would go over the battery and perhaps reduce its lifespan by warning it. However the solution I came up with was to use the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 300 which has a PCIE ×1 interface that will connect to the lowest socket on the motherboard and therefore be far away from the CMOS battery. It’s a very good basic card with drivers that are Windows 10 compatible, so it worked very well for me.
