The µPC1018C is an AM/FM intermediate frequency (IF) amplifier IC manufactured by the NEC Corporation. If you are a hobbyist and like building radios, then you will like this IC because it consists of four high-gain operational amplifier blocks, where two are dedicated to the FM band and two for the AM band. It will operate on standard intermediate frequencies such as 455 kHz for AM band and 10.7 MHz for the FM band. An advantage of this IC is that you can get very good gain using fewest number of components, which also helps to reduce component costs.

The AN7410N is an FM stereo multiplex demodulator manufactured by the Panasonic Company of Japan. This little chip reduces the component count for the reception of the FM band, and requires just a few external components to work.
