RT-6035 Deck

The Toshiba RT-6035 tape transport mechanism has all the basic tape functions one can expect. For a system as old as this you can expect worn heads, worn pinch roller, and perished rubber surfaces. In this design, they use rubber surfaces to drive the tape-winding spool, and when these are have perished, the tape will not wind. On my unit, the torsion spring, which presses the pinch roller onto the capstan, had broken due to fatigue. However, this is a very easy fix.
