Numark Turntable Repair
This is the printed circuit board side of the faulty Numark turntable, showing the location of the motor driver integrated circuit (IC).
Driver Chip
You can see that some of the pins appear to have dry solder. The best thing is to re-solder them so that they make proper electrical connection. Dry solder joints can also be the reason why the fault appears to be intermittent. When the chip is cold the joints contract and make electrical connection, however after a few minutes the IC heats up and the expansion of the contacts result in the manifestation of the fault.
Dry Solder
Here is a close-up of some of the contacts. The pins become very hot and as a result, the solder dries up causing poor connections. A qualified electronic engineer can simply re-solder all the pins so that they make proper electrical connection.
