Philips RH580

Philips RH580

The RH580 was a stereo amplifier marketed in 1972 by the Philips Corporation. It was a part of their record playing system consisting of the GA105 record deck, and RH411 loudspeakers. There was also the option of adding the RH690 stereo tuner to the suite. The amplifier power output was 6-watts (rms) per channel into 8 Ω loads. An interesting feature of this amplifier is that the volume control maintains the high and low frequency ends of audio at lower volumes. The GA105 record deck is semi-automatic having an automatic shut-off mechanism. It comes with a GP205 ceramic stereo cartridge and 18-µm diamond (LP) stylus. The stylus pressure is 2 g to 4 g and is adjustable. The RH411 loudspeakers have 10-watts (rms) power handling capacity, and each enclosure has 5-inch dual-cone loudspeakers.
