Jackson 5 -- The Ultimate Collection CD

CD Front Cover

Jackson 5, The Ultimate Collection, is their 1995 compilation CD containing hit tracks such as I Want You Back, ABC, I’ll Be There, It’s Your Thing, Tweet Tweet (Rockin’ Robin), and more. The Jackson 5 band members were usually Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Michael, and Randy. Michael and Jermaine were lead vocals, though they were all good singers and musicians in their own right. In this CD, we can hear Michael at the age of six demonstrating the strongest vocal range and he soon takes over the singing for the group. The CD accompanies a booklet with photographs of the group members, information of how they started, and the credits to some of the people that made it all possible. The tracks came from original album sources and digitally re-mastered for the best sound quality.

Review

I bought this CD because it has three of my most favourite songs, one of which I was never able to find in the shops because I was asking for the Tweet Tweet song, which is officially known as Rockin’ Robin (Track 12). The other one that I especially liked was I’ll Be There (Track 4) with lead vocals Michael and Jermaine who sing it extremely well. It also has "I Am Love" (Parts 1 and 2), which is my absolute favourite, with Jermaine singing most of the lead vocals. It has that amazing bass guitar music that became legendary amongst rock circles. This is a wonderful compilation of some of their best work, and you get 21 fantastic tracks including It’s Your Thing extended remix. All the tracks except the remix come from the Jackson 5 boxed set, Soulstation!

Price/eBay

I managed to pick this up for a couple of pounds and it was extremely good value as you get some of their best work. I prefer to have the CD because you get the proper uncompressed sound you were meant to hear and a booklet with information. The ABC song is highly recommended for all the whippersnappers around the world who visit this site.
