Amplifier Circuit Board

A pair of BD207 transistors in a quasi-complementary push-pull configuration drives the power output section of each channel in this amplifier. These are 10-ampere high power NPN silicon transistors manufactured by the Motorola Semiconductor Corporation. As you can see in the circuit diagram, one transistor has a 2N2218A connected to it in a Darlington configuration whilst the other has 2N2904. An advantage of this type of output is that all the transistors can be the same NPN type.

Variable resistor R33 enables one to minimize cross over distortion, by measuring the DC output when the input is zero.
