LG BP350 Hack

As you can see, on my unit the SMD resistor is on the BP350 model setting. I wonder if I were to desolder it and fit it to the BP450 position, then would my unit be able to play 3D Blu-Ray discs? I was very tempted to experiment with this possible hack, but I do not want to invalidate my warranty.

I cannot help thinking that with the open source software for this unit, and this simple way to set the model setting on the PCB, this product is a hackers dream come true.
