LNB Cable Connectors

The back of your satellite box will usually have a "F" connector socket with a screw thread hence you will need to buy an "F" plug to connect to it. The cable is usually the RG-6/U type with a solid centre wire, which also behaves as the centre pin of the plug. The wiring connections are simple because they use the same arrangement at the LNB end as well.

F Plug

This is an "F Plug" and is available from most electronics shops.

Extension Cable

If you wish to extend the wire because you may be moving the television to another room, then you will require an "F" joiner, also known as a coupler. You simply screw the existing wire to this coupler and build another extension cable with "F" plugs at both ends.
