TomTom One XL Reset Switch

Hidden Reset Switch

The TomTom ONE XL has a hidden reset switch inside, for which there is no button outside. Instead, the manufacturers have provided a hole (next to the memory card slot) for inserting a straightened paper clip to push the switch. This reset function is usually for when you have problems turning ON your GPS, or when it freezes.

Factory Reset

The TomTom One XL also has a factory reset function, which is from within the menu system. This of course means that you must have a fully operating GPS before you can activate it. The factory reset usually deletes your personal settings, and resets the GPS to as it was when it was new from the factory. Factory reset deletes the following.

  • Favourites
  • Home Location
  • POIs
  • Itineraries
  • Recent Destinations
  • Recent Calls and Callers
