The Sanyo M3330 has a well designed and built tape transport mechanism. It was ideally suited for dictation machines where the user may use the fast forward and rewind functions heavily. Consequently, the mechanism is robust and reliable. This stereo cassette player has cue and review functions. The push-button mechanism is made from metal components and has a smooth action when operating.

It is very common to find a player where the auto stop mechanism no longer works. It is always because of the worn rubber surface on the main drive wheel highlighted above. It is possible replace the rubber surfaces. Old video recorders used many of these at one time and I managed to find one that was the correct size that could work.

Belt Drive

Usually, brush type motors are fine depending upon who makes them, and this Japanese motor still works well. There are two drive belts, and the other smaller one is under the capstan flywheel.
