The ZR36966 is a Zoran processor, which is the Vaddis 9 solution, or ninth generation. This processor has better error correction and can play scratched CDs that other players would have difficulty playing. It also has all the decoder circuitry, including Dolby Digital, built into it.

The Zoran Corporation of Sunnyvale California launched this processor in 2006 as a single chip DVD solution for portable players. Zoran is of course one of the leaders in System on Chip (SoC) processor technology, and this processor is in many high-end machines as well.

The A25L080 is an 8 Mbit serial flash memory chip in a four pin PDIP package. This holds the firmware for the DVD player. This player will be ideal for hackers for modifying and converting it into a multi-region player.
