Sony Discman D-20 Lock Switch

The D-20 has a lock switch (S801) safety mechanism so that the unit and the laser will not switch ON whilst the CD compartment door is open. As you can see, the switch contacts are open when the door is open. However, when the door is shut, a plastic strip pushes the switch to close it. This particular unit was not switching ON and the fault was traced to the switch contacts not closing completely.
