Canon EOS 3000 Battery Grip

The Canon EOS 3000 battery grip is the part you hold the camera and doubles as the battery compartment. This is usually removable in many cameras so that the owner can install different grips; however, in this camera it is integrated. Instead, Canon provides the optional BP-8 battery pack which screws to the base of the camera. This battery pack enables the owner to use standard "AA" size batteries.

There is also the GR-80TP available as an accessory, which enlarges the camera grip to enhance the holding ease, and has a folding mini-tripod built into it.
