Canon T50 Review

electronic Technology

The T50 was a very deceptive looking camera, because from the outside it looks plain, lacking controls, and has a boring plastic case. However, it has some very sophisticated microprocessor technology on the inside, which ensures that your photographs are always properly exposed. This was the first in the T series and most of the technology was new, which they would have incorporated and perfected in later versions of the camera.

T1513 Microprocessor

In this design, they are using the T1513 microcontroller as the main brains of the camera to ensure perfect exposure of the film. It takes much of the thinking away from the photographer so he or she can spend that time composing the frame.

On the positive side, it has through-the-lens (TTL) light metering system coupled with the shutter. This is the electronically controlled shutter, which ensures photographs receive proper exposure every time. Then, there is the viewfinder, which is very clear and bright, and finally it uses standard "AA" size batteries, which are cheap and readily available.

Circuitry

With everyone going digital, this is an ideal time for the collector or photography student to grab one of these going cheap on eBay for a few pounds.

Shutter Switch

This camera has the advanced two-step electromagnetic shutter switch. Pressing it halfway activates the indicators, and pressing it all the way activates the shutter release.
