3G and 4G SIM Card Sizes

There are three sizes of SIM cards for the 3G and 4G networks. These sizes are standard, micro, and nano-SIM. The standard size is approx 25 mm × 15 mm. The micro size is approx 15 mm × 12 mm, and the nano-SIM is approx 13 mm × 10 mm.

Modern SIM packs usually come in an all-in-one trio design, where you simply cut out the size you require. As you can see, although the sizes are different, they use the same electrical connections.

In comparison, if you have an old SIM card, which is the same shape and size as a standard sized 3G/4G card, then it will not work because it has different electrical connections. Although this old card will fit in your new 3G/4G phone, it will not work because it is not electrically compatible.
