Sanyo M7750LG

Radio Cassette Recorder

The M7750LG was a mini 4-band stereo radio cassette recorder manufactured by the Sanyo Electric Company of Japan. The radio has FM, MW, LW, and SW bands, with three different beat cancel options. The cassette recorder has options for normal, chrome, and metal tape types. It has stereo, mono and "sound expand" options for speaker output. Additional functions include stereo recording, balance control, tone, and volume control.

One good thing going for this old radio cassette was the radio design, consisting of µPC 1018C, and AN7410N chips that formed a very sensitive circuit.

This charming and desirable radio cassette measures approximately 40 cm × 12 cm × 8 cm. It has lovely Japanese build quality, and the radio reception is excellent. This is an ideal little unit to take to the picnic or fishing where you could listen to some classical music in low volume. They designed this to be a portable unit and consequently it does not have built-in mains transformer, however some good quality batteries should last a long time.

This cassette recorder has automatic music search system (AMSS), which operates in conjunction with fast-forward and rewind functions by detecting the quieter gaps between programs to help align at the beginning.

These mini radio cassettes would have been mass-produced; however, I have not seen many of them on the Internet or eBay. At the time of their introduction, they would have been expensive due to the AMSS function. A good working one without scratches could sell for twenty pounds, and one in mint condition with the original box could fetch considerably more.
