Technics SL-1200MK2

The SL-1200MK2 was a quartz synthesizer direct-drive turntable system manufactured by the Technics Corporation of Japan. It had a silver finish, whilst the SL-1210MK2 was in a black finish. During production, they made major improvements to the base structure and the circuitry, denoted by SL-1200MK2-A and SL-1210MK2-A on the nameplate at the back. The seventh character of the serial number being "D" also reflects this improvement. These turntables came with the EPC-207C moving magnet cartridge and the replacement stylus was EPS-207ED.
The SL-1200 series became very popular with DJ's, and these turntables are often for sale on eBay ranging in price from as little as one hundred pounds to over a thousand pounds depending upon condition and accessories with it. The limited edition versions made of gold parts can easily cost over ten thousand pounds.
