Avometer Battery Compartment Cleaning

One of the nicer design features of the Avometer Mk 1 and Mk 2 is how the battery compartment seals off the batteries from the rest of the electronics. This way, if the batteries leaked, then it would not corrode the rest of the meter components.

On my meter, there was a great deal of battery residue at the bottom of the compartment, and therefore I decided to remove it and clean it under the kitchen sink. At this point, I had removed the back information plate and the feet from the back cover because I was preparing the surfaces for spray-painting.

The battery compartment secures to the back cover with glue and screws, therefore these surfaces required cleaning as well.
