Palm Vx Reset

The Palm Vx reset hole is an opening under which there is a physical switch. Usually a straightened paper clip inserted into the hole depresses the switch and causes a reset of the system. The stylus, which accompanies the handheld, has a screw tip, which when removed reveals a sharp point for resetting the unit.

Soft Reset

Simply pressing the reset switch alone is the equivalent of switching OFF and ON. It will reset the processor and bring the unit to the condition when you first started it.

A soft reset usually requires one to set the time and date again.

Warm Reset

A warm reset bypasses any programs executing during boot. Usually faulty programs cause a boot loop to occur by causing the device to reset itself. To initiate a warm reset, you keep the UP button pressed, and then simultaneously press the switch in the reset hole.
