Palm Vx Chipset

The Palm Vx has a rich chipset designed to operate smoothly with the 20 MHz MC68EZ328 DragonBall Ez processor. All of this miniaturisation is possible due to the high-density surface-mount packages on a multi-layered PCB. This second-generation RISC processor uses the ball-grid array (BGA) package thus saving much space on the PCB.

ROM and RAM

The RAM memory chip is Samsung K4E641212D, which is a 4 M × 16-bit CMOS DRAM with EDO. The flash ROM memory chip is 29LV160BE-70, which is a 16 MB integrated circuit in a 48 pin TSOP designed for portable applications.
